Instant messaging and SharePoint

new to SharePoint
Will SharePoint allow for IM w/ our domain?
I need a IM application that works only w/ in our domain--ideally integrates w/ SharePoint

any help would be appreciated

Hello Jim!

Have you looked at the Administrator guides for SharePoint? Here is a link to the Windows SharePoint Services admin guide and a section about online presence in SharePoint.

Ofcourse this article only describes the Windows Instant Messenger and MSN Messenger and that might not be what you are looking for since you want to limit the IM software only to work on (inside) your domain / Network, and atleast the MSN messenger needs to connect with an outside server (atleast by default)
