Hey guys!

I'm curious as to what language the new features on websites I've been seeing are written with. The features are something where you'd click on the certain buttons on the webpages and it seems that it does it's thing instantly without any jumping to the next page and loading of the new page and stuff.

It's just like in facebook.com where you can 'poke' someone but instead of opening and going to a new page, a small window within that webpage will popup and it seems to process that 'poke' request in real-time. Any ideas what they are using?

might be AJAX - this is what google maps uses to improve loading times

might be better to ask on the javascript forum

Thanks guys!

Just a couple more questions. hehe

Can you have Ajax within an ASP page?

Also, if you are gonna make a website and you envisioned it to be really really big, like bigger than myspace about the size of eBay, like all around the world thing, would u suggest that i program it in ASP.net or vanilla ASP?

AJAX depends on client-side JavaScript so it doesn't really matter if you use ASP on the server or some other similar server-side technology. The most important thing for AJAX is that the user has a browser with JavaScript support.
be in your best interest to choose the platform

Alritey! Thanks so much! Time for me to be the next eBay creator! ehe
