Hello,

In Oracle 7.3.X, you can check the number of instance and status by using Oradim73 on the command line. This will start the Instance Manager. Or you can use the instance manager from Start->Programs... Does 8i have a similar function?

Instance Manager is now one of the components of DBA Studio, which comes on your Oracle 8i CD. It has similar functionality to the 7.3.4 Instance Manager. For example, it has retained the stoplight icon to show the status of the instance.
