Installtion Problem with Norton

I purchased the Norton 2006 version, and it will not install on my computer for some reason.

It seems to go through the installation process, but then I get a screen that only gives me the option to completely remove Norton and all of its parts.

It won't run at all.

Could this be the result of an existing virus, and if so, how should I deal with the problem.

I can't even seem to figure out how to reach the company!

oh, I forgot to mention, it is Norton 2006!

2) What antivirus did you have before installing this?
3) Was it up to date?

1) We have Windows XP
2) No Anti-Virus before installing this
3) There was no antivirus protection....

If you had no prior protection, it's likely you're infected and it's preventing you from completing the install. Try doing an online scan with Panda:

Then uninstall and reinstall NAV.

I went to the Symantec site which informed me that the program wasn't activated, so I did EXACTLY what it said, I opened the program, but now it seems to be freezing on the activation page, so I can't activate the program...
