Hi everybody,

I built with Installshield express 2011 trial version a project for installing a VFP7 app on a Windows 7 PC.
I checked all the required re-distributables including msvcr70.dll
It installed OK but when running the application I received the message "msvcr70.dll is missing from your computer".

Installshield support reviewed the project and said that msvcr70.dll installed on the root drive (C:). They gave me instructions to change the default location of the merge module. Since my trial version expired I cannot test this now. However I wonder if this is the problem.

Thanks for any advise.

Peter

Yes, that sounds like it could be the problem.

In my own setups, the destination of that DLL is Common Files / Microsoft Shared / VFP. I guess you could also put it in the same directory as your main executable. The point is that it has to be somewhere where your app will find it.

You say your InstallShield trial has expired. Whyt not use the special VFP version of InstallShield that comes with VFP 7 and above? It should give you all the functionality you need, and it doesn't expire.

Mike
