I have been trying to get a Zebra LP2844 to work on my Aloha TS system. I'm using a serial connection and have set the printer serial settings to match the other printers on my system (9600, 8, E, 1)... All aloha reports is that "Label Printer Not Communicating"

i have tested the cable and connection by installing windows drivers and accessing the printer, so all works well on that end.

"When I start FOH i change the windows port for the printer to "FILE" so that it doesn't interfere

Matching serial settings to the other printers isn't going to help. You need to install the printer with the windows driver first.

Then, you must define a windows printer in Aloha's printer section, and the name of the Windows printer in Aloha must be spelled exactly as the icon appears in the printers section of Windows.

Aloha only knows how to directly communicate with a limited set of printers. If it is not on the list when you add a printer, then you will need to do the above and install the printer as a Windows printer.

Ok, I switched it out with a TLP 2642 , which "is" supported by aloha, and all i get is "communication error"
i have the printer set to 9600 8, E, 1 and also tried 9600 8,N,1 and have no luck with either.. the connection and cables is good because i am able to print to the printer via methods other than aloha
