I have a new computer and I wish to install Word Perfect Office 2000 from the original CDs. However, I only wish to install WordPerfect 9, and none of the other applications.

I chose the "custom" option, but it still is forcing me to install CorelCENTRAL 9, which I absolutely do not want.

Any suggestions?

Ed

I have never installed without CorelCentral, nor do I use it. I do remove the file that starts all the system tray stuff right after install, which I think includes CorelCentral. I don't know the name of the file off the top of my head, but it is in the Startup folder under Start Programs. Doing that seems to put CorelCentral in the back ground and out of harms way - I think.

Hope that helps,
Don

As a long, long time user of the various versions of Borland/WordPerfect/Corel WordPerfect Office, I can tell you that "Custom" install has nver been WordPerfect's (or Corel's) strong suite. I can also tell you that trying to fix/correct the install almost always results in more serious problems.

My suggestion would be to let sleeping dogs lie and leave it alone. If harddisk space is an issue, just use Windows Explorer to remove CorelCentral from your harddrive. If CC loads during start-up, go to MSCONFIG and then it's "startup" tab to cancel CC at start-up. All of these options should have no affect on your using the word processing module.

Good luck!
