Hello all, I work for a company that is trying to provide internet services for a garden style apartment complex.

The complex is about 10 different buildings, scattered within a 3,000 foot radius. The buildings are about 50 units each, and are no more than four stories high. We will have a single T1 circuit for all the customers to initially feed off of.

Can someone please point in the right direction as far as what kind of wireless solution will work? Here are the most critical factors we are looking for...

- COST
- User friendly for our residential customers
- COST
- Simplicity (we have a limited support staff)
- COST
- Ability for residential customers to install themselves

As you can see, cost effectiveness is our top priority - and we are willing to sacrafice performance/scalability.

Does anyone have experience in this type of scenario? Anyone have any knowledge in what type of equipment will work best? Multipoint? Point-to-point? Whatever the case, the signal has to be strong enough to penetrate numerous concrete walls that seperate the units.

My guess is to bring in a single centralized accesspoint that is strong enough to provide coverage for the entire area, and have the residential customers simply purchase a wireless NIC.

Like I said, it will be most appreciative if someone can point me in the right direction with this. Thanks in advance....

Hi Illegal,
I am currently working on a similar project at a hotel and looking for the same information. There is a post titled "Expanding Wireless Network" further on in this forum which has some good information. It also seems to be where others like us are posing a lot of the same questions. Hope this helps and I'll pass on any other info I might find.

Hi All!

Funny Thing I am doing the same for my very itty bitty small lodging place (15 rooms, 3 stories).

Any additional help??
