Aspire holds an Intel Atom N270 with hyper-threading technology. WinXP sees two processors in it, but Win2000 doesn't even install. Early in the installation process it chooses multiprocessor HAL and hangs. If I tell it to use uniprocessor HAL (ACPI is a good choice) then I can install Win2000, but there seems to be no way of changing the HAL to multiprocessor after installation. If I do with Device Manager, at next reboot it freezes.
Anyone can tell me a way to make Win2000 exploit hyperthreading on the Atom N270?
Someone on this forum says that he installed Win2000 on an hyperthreading processor: any hint?
Thank you
