Hi,

I have Lg Aria 300 with 2 KSUs as pictured below. I purchased a VMIBE card from the ebay. I was wondering which slot and KSU is the most appropriate and what is the best practices to install and configure this card?

Thanks
KSU2 (Top)
Slot1: DTIB24
Slot2: DTIB24
Slot3: DTIB12

KSU1 (Top)
Slot1: DTIB24
Slot2: DTIB24

Slot6: LCOB8

Slot8: WTIB
Slot9: MISB

I would install it in SLOT=4 in KSU2, in order to to pu too much load on the +5Volts power supply. WTIB and VMIB requires much +5 Volt. Add the board in PGM101 and 103 - and restart the system -> then voice mail is running in your system!

Follow dockors advice , also just as good house keeping put the lcob that is in slot 6 in the main cab ,in slot 5 in the second cab this will again just give you more even load balancing accross the system , this step is not necessary but seeing as your bottom cab is heavily populated, i would advise whilst you have the chance when installing the vmib, again pgm 101,103 to reassign the board, also as good measure make sure the battery switch is on when you insert the vmib (seeing as its off ebay it may have prompts & or greetings stored, this procedure will clear as per manufacturese guide lines).

You can do this via the lan connection on the MPB pgm 108 flex 2 to find the system ip.

Alternativly You will need a 9pin rs232 cable female to female with pins 2,3,5 connected in parallel

Using MPB Commands for the VMIB.

Use a Terminal Emulation software ( Hyperterminal, PC Plus etc. ) to communicate with the LDK.
The default Com port settings are :
19200 Baud
8 Data Bits
1 Stop Bit
No Parity

Once connected press the Enter key.
The system should respond with,
ENTER PASSWORD >
Enter the maintenance password - ( brandy )
The prompt should change to,
maint >

You can now enter the following commands to clear the ‘linked list’.
vc u
vc s
vc a

vc u : will clear user greetings and left messages.
vc s : will clear system prompts ( recorded by the Attendant ).
vc a : will clear all ( user greetings, left messages and system prompts ).

To exit from this communication type x and enter.

Hope this helps

Thanks very much gentlemen, your answers very much appreciated. Due to cable lengths I am not able to relocate LCOB8 to the 2nd KSU but definitely I will take your valuable advises and put the VMIBE into 2nd KSU. Should I relocate MISB to the 2nd KSU as we are not using it at all, does it help?

How we will record auto attendance voice from one of our staff? Do I need special equipment or additional card for this?

Thanks

I would not reloctae the MISB since it takes less power.
To record greetings in VMIB, just use the system phone (LKD/LDP) acting as attendant.
In the next answer the procedure will be contained.

Here is what you have to do to record a message from the operator:
[TRANS/PROG] + 06 + message number (3 digits) + # + (record your message) + Hold / Save. There can be recorded system message from 001 to 070 to the group queue / response and voice response (CCR messages).
If you make a search (forum search) with these words "VMIB recording", many good advices will come up.

Thanks very much. I have scheduled this work for the next weekend.

Remember to back-up your system before adding the VMIB, and also after the VMIB is running.

Remember to make the forum search on VMIB - so you can see what advantages this product gives you.
You will have the possibility to use menues (IVR - press 1 for this and press 2 for that), also M-O-H (Music-on-Hold) recorded as system message 071, greetings for the operators and group etc.
