People, I re-installed W98SE last night and made the stupid mistake of not taking note of the type of Graphics Card and it's Drivers I had. Now, all I have available is VGA.
Please let me know how to install a generic type SVGA driver.
Sorry about the numpty question.
Thanks in advance.
Mick

You could take the cover off of your computer and look at your video card, and it will say the brand name and the type on it. And then you can goto the companies website and download a driver for it. [deejay]

What you have installed by Windows 98 is a generic VGA (or SVGA) graphics driver, that's how it is working.

You do have to determine what kind of graphics chipset is in your computer, whether it is Onboard graphics, or an actual video card.
Do you have a manual that came with your computer ?

*** BEFORE you update any video chipset drivers you really must use a NEWER version of DirectX from Microsoft.
Download and install version 8.0a or 8.1. Do that before the video card (and sound) updates.
