We have begun to solve the issue of Visual Studio installing but still have a curious fault.
We have found you must install the pre-requisites in a specific order and so have created an GPO for this specific purpose. You must NOT have previous or even similar versions as those you wish to install. All installs must be from the CDs supplied.
Now when we run the MSI pre-req installs and then install Visual Studio using the CDs everything is fine. Yet, we create an MSI using the instructions given by Microsoft and the MSI creation appears fine but the program blows out when first started. No fault log, no errors in the Event Logs.
