When I try to install VB6 Pro on my new laptop (running XP pro with SP2)i get the following window after it asks for my Key number:

16 Bit Window Subsystem
c:\windows\system32\autoexec.NT The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and microsoft windows applications. Choose 'close' to terminate the application.

followed by the window:
coudn't find Acme setup

I've had no problems installing and running VB6 on my home computer running the same operating system, nor have I had any problems installing a myrid of other programs on the laptop.

If you google Google Groups:

"The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and microsoft windows applications" visual basic

you'll get lot's of hits, specifically this one:

Two strings walk into a bar. The first string says to the bartender: 'Bartender, I'll have a beer. u.5n$x5t?*&4ru!2[sACC~ErJ'. The second string says: 'Pardon my friend, he isn't NULL terminated'.
