Hi
does anyone know how to remove the hard drive from an Acer Travelmate 510 please? - can't get any sense from Acer - no technical papers available - I want to install a 40GB disk, but don't wanna bust anything trying to get the old one out-
Greatly appreciate if anyone can tell me how to get at the old hard drive - thanks %-

How old is the TravelMate? The BIOS may have problems recognizing the hard drive, some have limits at 4.6GB, 8.4GB, 32GB.

On some notebooks and laptops the palm rest bezel has to come off, on some there may be a plate in the bottom that comes off and on some there is a cartridge to be removed.

Thanks Berton - hadn't thought of BIOS problems, but have now downloaded a BIOS upgrade & will speak to Acer Euro-support in the morning - laptop Oct 1998 - I think that I need to remove the keyboard to get to the drive - there are some square push buttons on the bottom of screen and I think they 'pop' the keyboard out - however I'm not sure and don't want to make a costly mistake - anyone know of this particular type of Travelmate?
