Gentlemen;
I'm attempting to install a binary distro of mysql 4.1.13 downloaded from UCLA's repository. Form the root dir I've untarred it with the -xvpf./filename options and all went seemingly fine. I searched and there were no install instructions. When I run the mysql.server start command it fails and the err log states that libstdc++.a (libstdc++.so.5) is not found and it aborts.
I've done all the searching on the box and on the web for somewhere to obtain this but have come up rather empty.
Therefore, can someone who knows what this is saying PLEASE provide some insight as to what one can do to obtain this needed lib and get it installed properly so mysql will at least run?
Thank you.
Bob M
