I've read that you need to install & run Linux in 16-bit color mode if you're using Virtual PC. How do I do that? Is there a boot option...?

Code:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

then follow the assistants step for step and at the end deactivate the 24bit support, it will then automagically use 16bit...

Code:
sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart
to restart GNOME and any XSERVER that is currently running...

Thanks, I'll try that next time I install Fedora, which is where I saw that problem before.
This time I installed Ubuntu and I didn't need to do anything, it just worked automagically.

At the initial install prompt screen (after language), press <F4> for the options and use Save Graphics Mode if you have more trouble.
