Hello,

I asked our manager if we could put a Web Server on one of our SUN machines on a Solaris platform. We thought that Tomcat might be the best one since it was free.

I can accross 3 files that I think might be the Tomcat software I need to install on the SUN box.

jakarta-tomcat-5.5.9-admin.tar.gz
jakarta-tomcat-5.5.9-embed.tar.gz
jakarta-tomcat-5.5.9-deployer.tar.gz

Which one is the Webserver or do I need all three? I need to give the correct one to our Unix admin for him to install.

Thanks,

If you just want a "web server" (ie static content) then use Apache HTTPD - use Tomcat if you are running JSPs/Servlets.
