Installing the GNU compiler

Trying to install the gcc from

http://www.bullfreeware.com/

but keep getting an error. (it works fine to do an 'inutoc' but when I run the smitty install it fails)

The name freeware is not a known user for file /usr/local/bin/c++.

freeware.gcc.rte 3.3.2.0 USR APPLY FAILED

system does not seem to like the freeware part of the filename.

any suggestions on how to fix this?

Have you created user freeware before trying the install.
