Hi all,
I'm trying to use SWAT to configure Samba (using Red hat 7.3), but all the sites I've gone to seem to begin with:
"After you've compiled SWAT..."

I'm lost here...I had the impression that SWAT was already compiled and ready to go with a standard Samba install. I have samba working fine, but I can't figure out either how to get the source and compile swat so I can work with samba without all the tedium of editing all these conf files. I've looked in what the sites say is the standard directory for it, but it's not there.
Thanks for any help...

try this:

rpm -q swat

if the swat is not installed, then use the CD to get swat rpm.

rpm -Uvh samba-swat*.rpm

if swat is installed, type "vi /etc/xinetd.d/swat"
then changed "disable=yes => no"

go into gui mode, then startup netscape (

Go beyond, where no man has gone before.
