I am trying to install MS 2000 service packs onto two 2000 Server servers. Neither service pack 3 or 4 get going. The installation continues past the checking for diskspace, of which there is no shortage, to the backing up of files and at about 75% into this process (progress bar) the update aborts just saying errors were encountered. The installation works fine on the w2k workstations. Doing it as administrator. Safe mode doesn't work either. Am I missing something that should be done on the server prior to attempting the installation? Any help will be appreciated, thanks.
