Hi Group,

I am quite new regarding installing enterprise servers. Recently I was required to install a serveraid controller on a new xseries 345 server. Someone told me that in order to boot from ServeRaid, I have to disable the on-board LSI logic controller. Is that correct?

What if I install the boot drive from LSI controller, then use ServeRaid to link Data drives only?

Thanks for your help.

If you install a ServeRAID 5i controller (or it's follow-on adapter the 6i), it's designed to work with the onboard LSI chipset, not instead of. It's the best solution for your x345.
