Hallo all

Sorry if my question is to easy but i am a newbie.
I am trying to install a serial interface in 1721 router
and with sh interface command i can t see the interface.
I am sure that i bought the right interface.Ios can see interfaces plag snd play or i have to do something else?

Sorry if my english are bad

Thank you all in advanced

I would call and check with Cisco, but it is probably not the right interface. The router should "see" it without any commands. check and make sure you have it seated properly also...

Can you advise what the Cisco part number is for your serial module? You may just need to *enable* the card first to have it appear under the 'show int' command.

Thank you all for replying

If you can tell me what the Cisco part number is you have installed, I can perhaps advise if you need gto enable the serial interface

I had a 1720 once and it would not detect the WIC-1ENET card until I upgraded the IOS. I had 12.1 something, upgraded to 12.4. If you post a show version, perhaps someone with more knowledge on IOS's could help.
