Installing second OS

If I change active partition and would like install Win2000, how can I come back to WinME if something wrong happen during Win2000 installation, or can I change back active partition?

Interesting fact :

If you install win98 first and then W2K ( which is
the usual case ) you would get a choice of booting
from either one on start-up. If after a while you
want to get rid of the W2K you won't be able to
get rid of the boot menu. The original part (1) that
you have 98 on is c: and an extra part (2) (of course
fat32 if you want it to be accessible by 98) would be
d: no matter which OS you are booting.

If you install W2K and then 98 ( which needs a bit
of trick if you have install 98 first and a swap ) you
can always have the option to isolate the two systems.
Lets say you install W2K in part1 and 98 in part2 and
by some means install a boot menu software (Gag,
boot magic ) When you choose to boot from part1
(W2K) you will get part1 as c: and part2 as d:. And
if you choose to boot from part2 (98) you will get
part2 as c: and part1 as d: (provide part1 is also fat32)
Removal of either OS will not hinder the other.
