Hi.
I am stuck with installing RH 7.1 on a NEC Versa Premium laptop. The installation process goes smoothly, and the machine is up and running in no time. However, I cannot get X to work. When I use the setup as detected on startup, I get X starting up but the screen has it's "quadrants" mixed up. The top left is at the bottom right, the top right on the bottom left, and so forth.
SuperProbe (and the installation) detects the hardware as:
Chipset: Silicon Integrated Systems 630 AGP (PCI Probed)
Memory: 8192 Kbytes
RAMDAC: SiS built-in DAC w/clock
(with 6-bit wide lookup tables (or in 6-bit mode))
The video memory is shared with the system's RAM.
If there is any advise on how to get this working, I am all ears... I have tried a number of installs, and various other tricks I have learnt over time to get this going, but to no avail...
Thanks AV
