We are installing RAID 5 on one of our F80 servers that presently has 2 six packs plus the 2 internal drives. One of the six packs has data the other doesn't. After I build the Array I want to copy over the LV's from the first six pack to the second six pack that will be RAID 5. The problem I run into is that the file systems on the non-raid are NOT Large File Enabled and I want the RAID array to have Large File Systems enabled. I have tried several different sets of commands and I always end up with Large File Systems NOT enabled even if I create it as Enabled.

I have tried:
Creating the File system as Large Enabled, then
chlv -t copy newlv
cplv -e newlv oldlv

newlv ends up not being Large File enabled

Any ideas?

Norm

From your commands I guess that when you copy the oldvg to newvg all settings (including being not lagre file enabled) are copied as well, so you end up with newvg not being large file enabled.
If you can close all applications you can try to copy all files to newly created filesystems on newvg (all being large file enabled of course).
