I am still new at working with Citrix. How do I install a new network printer? I have Terminal Server. Thanks. :-I

from wherever users log into the Citrix server, it will attempt to map their LOCAL printer at their client machine as their default printer. NT will be able to do this automatically if it has the driver for it...(i.e. most common printers that aren't that new or old) If not, then you need to install that printer locally on the Terminal Server, then delete it, and it will now have the drivers.
*A note of warning* DON't run any .exe setup programs for these printer installations. Only use .inf files to install. You don't want the software to install, it'll kill your Terminal server.
Some printers (i.e. most of the HP DeskJet 800 series) will give you trouble, regardless
Good luck.

The best plan for network printers in Terminal Server environmnets is to have a separate File/Print server. It needn't be anything major, but something with a fast disk subsystem is best.

Install all network printers onto this server (it could be an NT4 or W2k server) onto LPR ports.

Then install the drivers (as whitemtntn says NOT via the setup.exe on the install disk!) on the terminal server(s). The users can then map directly to the network printer. This is a good solution if printers are being shared by a mixture of Citrix users, thick clients, Novell and UNIX.

I hope this information is useful.
