I reformatted my hard drive into 3 partitions. The C drive, which i allowed 2gigs has the os and utilities. the F Drive has apps and programs, G drive is for storage. I have tried to install photoshop on the f drive and it only wants the C drive..naturally it tell s me that the C drive hasn't enough space. The readme files claim that it should be installed in c:/document & settings. Is that it or is there any way to get in on the f drive. I am using win2000 pro.

You should be able to install Photoshop on your "T:" drive if you wanted to!

Why can't you install elsewhere?
What happens when you select Custom install? Is the "Browse..." button disabled when it presents you with the default "C:\..." location?

--RHYNO

What happens in custom install is that I use the browse and go to my f/ click on it..it's in the box, and just go to next..then i see a error message box that tells me that the C drive does not have enough room, as if it didn't recognize the f drive and that it is not a valid folder..
I've tried it five times with the same results..

This may just make things worse, but...

Could TweakUI PowerToy help? (free download from microsoft.com). TweakUI can tweak the locations of the default folders (My Documents, Program Files, Desktop, etc). You could define your F:\ drive as 'Program Files'

PS 7 installs configuration files and other user files into the same directory as windows stores all the user data, there is noway to get around this, you should have a much larger primary partition.

Yes,you are right, I think I blew it..2 gigs for OS was not enough, no room for caching..emptied some stuff out of there and was able to install photoshop, but the computer has slowed down and i will have to reformat and allow more room on the C drive..thanks for your response.

Reformat and create a larger primary partition.

You will have many more problems as you progress if you do not.

what I have done i done, temporarily, is to delete the page file on the c drive and use the the F drive..for now..and everything seems to install there with no problem..photoshop works..thanks for all your responses..of course the right way is to reinstall and reformat..but time will not allow that for now..thanks again..
