My company has purchased a copy of Pervasive SQL Version 8 to be able to query, using SQL, the information written to a Legacy BTreive application. The server will be running on a standard NT4 server with the latest service packs installed (6a), The client will be running on :
Windows Terminal Server for NT4 Service pack 6 (with security rollup).
The packaging for pervasive SQL V8 states that the server client operating system is NT 4 (SP6a or higher). Microsoft have not released a service pack 6a for NT Terminal Server, the most recent is service pack 6 (with security rollup).
Can any body tell me if
1. I Will we be able to install the clients to the terminal server?
We intend to use Crystal Reports to interrogate the data.
2. If the client will not fully install will we be able to install enough drivers on the (NT terminal Server) system for the users to be able to access the DB through:
o OLE DB (preffered)?
o System DSN (acceptable)?
Again if the version 8 Client will not install:
3. Could we use a previous client version to allow the users to interrogate the database?
Thank you in advance.
