Maybe you guys can answer the following and stop a debate in progress.
When installing Partner mail, do you have to stop the ring on assigned extensions, for example PC mail-ext's 78 and 79, do you turn off line ringing on those extensions, and if so why?
Thanks in advance.

Not necessary once an extension has been assigned to the voicemail hunt group. The hunt schedule and hunt delay programming determines when and on how many rings before the AA answers a call.

If you want to see what happens to extensions in the voice mail hunt group, temporarily un-assign 78 and 79. Remove the PC card. Assign some other "real" extension port to hunt group 7, plug in a phone, and watch what happens when you lift the handset, what the intercom dial tone sounds like, what happens when you call the extension directly, through Intercom 777, when a call is transferred to voice mail, and when a call comes in directed to the auto attendant, etc.

It is really quite interesting in a geeky kind of way, and will give you great insight in what the interactions are.

Hey TTT,
You do weird things when you're bored. However, an excellent way to get a feel for things.
Having said that, I turn ringing off only 'cause I'm paranoid. It doesn't matter when the ports are assigned to the hunt group.
