Installing Paradox10

I am trying to install paradox 10 on a P11 350MHz PC with 192Mb Ram
On trying to launch the program the application just hangs and only CTRL/ALT/DEL gets me out.
I am certain I exceed the system requirements as identified on the setup cd; but am I wrong?

It certainly sounds like your system is up to speed. I'm not sure, though, that the system is the problem at this point.

Here's what I'd try:

1. Uninstall WPO2002 completely.

2. Restart Windows.

3. Install WPO2002 (or as few components as you can to get just Paradox 10, if that's all you want).

4. Restart Windows.

5. Obtain the latest service pack/hot-patch from

http://www.corel.com/support/ftpsite/pub/wordperfect/wpwin/office2002/index.htm

6. Review the installation directions.

7. Restart Windows after each piece of the process.

Restarting Windows between each step is really the key. Corel's installation process modifies core Windows processes that are typically in use during install. Since each piece tends to reply on those changes being in effect, you can run into trouble if they aren't there.

Be sure you completely remove any vestiges of any previous Paradox version before trying to install Px10. You may have to use the previous disk for removal or even uninstall 10 using the installation disk, reinstall the previous version (as uninstalling 10 will remove some components needed to uninstall the earlier form) then completely remove the earlier version. Now reinstall PX10. It will work. There were a lot of problems like that when PX10 first came out. Also be sure you install service pack 2. You can get if off the web, but word was that the disk version you order is better.
