I hava upgraded all client machines to windows xp pro and am in the process of installing the Windows 2003 Server using a domain that the clients authenticate to. Paradox runs fine on the server, but when the clients try to access the files from the server, they get locked out. I have changed the working directory. Can anyone help out?

Where is your Paradox Net directory for each client ?

Look at the Paradox FAQ on Net Rules and also the one on Operating Systems (treat your 2003 server as though it was a 2000 or Win NT system).

FAQs & TIPs:

Check out the faq on setting up paradox on a network, something is not set up correctly that is causing your lock out problem. You should also be sure and disable "Opportunistic Locking" on the server, not doing so will cause data corruption problems, this is a big problem on NT and 2000 server and I'm assuming it's still a problem on 2003 server.

If you can't get things working post more details and we'll walk you through it.

Thanks for the help. I upgraded the BDE from Borland to 5.1.1 and moved the directory to the server and have all clients access it from there. I had to rewrite some scripts on the .fsl files and change the working directories. All is working great now surprisingly. All clients are running XP Pro accessing Win2k3 and still using version 8.0 of Paradox.
