I downloaded the standard 4.0.5 beta win mysqul and installed it. I went through the admin setup. It set up the my.cnf file for me. I went to the dos prompt and changed to the mysql/bin directory. When I enter mysqld nothing happens. Any characters I type don't show up for a minute or so.
Should I uninstall and try a stable version, not the beta? I see an uninstall .exe. Will that work?
