Can somebody tell me how I can install SQLServer 2000 on a single machine?

I want to be able to practise my SQL skills at home, but do not have a network and my PCs operating system is XPProfessional.

I would very gratefully appreciate advice on this one...

Thanks...

First you need to get SQL Server editions which can work on your XP computer:personal edition,Developer edition and Desktop edition. After installing SQL Server , install the latest version of service pack.

All the installation is the same as installing in a comp.which is connected to network.

You will need to know the name of your computer ,in order to use alias to connect to your compyter.

Since you dont have network.so all the services can be run under local system account.

ping your computer in command line and get the ip,then use client network utility to add this ip address for register server in enterprise manager

Any prob. let me know

Any question ,let me know,
