We have a Win2k server with SP3, and we are trying to install MSOffice 2000. This is our Citrix Metaframe XP 1.8 server. We have tried the append to the setup file as per microsoft, we keep getting the Windows Installer Service may have a problem. We have an addition database server setup the same way and had no problem installing Office using the append to the setup file. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Installing Office2000

You will want to check the version of the Microsft Installer, and probably upgrade it.
Do this by searching for msi*.* in the SYSTEM32 folder. You can check the version of each file from the properties window.

NOTE: We had to perform the upgrade from the console with no users connected to the server.
