Hi,

I have got as far as requiring a certificate, however I am not sure how to acquire one (our main server does not export them in the correct .pfx format).

We have a main server (Windows Server 2003 Small Business Server) which I assume is where I would get our certificate from, Communications Server 2007 is to be installed on a separate server (Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise).

Can someone please advise me on how to proceed?

You'll either need to install Certificate Services on one of the servers, probably the SBS server, and have that machine issue you a certificate, or you can purchase a cert from a company (godaddy.com, rapidssl.com, etc).

Thank you very much Mr Denny, this is just the information I needed.

OK, I managed the Certificates part fine, however I now have an error during the Active Directory replication check - in the Deployment Log under Check Server State / Check Product ID it states "Failure [0xC3EC794B] Specified role doesn't match the installed product ID."
I am not sure what this means as I have followed the install procedure exactly, all previous stages have passed.

Is this something to be concerned about? Will the Server work despite this? What can I do to clear the fault?

Thanks for your input!

Next question / problem...

I have installed and configured Server and the client, but when I try to connect I am told that the certificate could not be verified. Any ideas?

Thanks sniper, have done so. I searched and looked down the list, obviously just must have missed that forum.
