Greetings!

This is the scenario:

1- I have downloaded ODAC Software Release 10.1.0.4.0 to a folder in my Windows 2003 server. (This Worked and the size downloaded is the same as the one shown in the Oracle Website)
2- I double-clicked the .exe file to extract the files. (This worked)
3- The ODAC.Exe created the folder called disk 1(this worked)
4- I double-clicked the Setup.exe to run the Oracle Universal Installer
5- A Command Pronmt windows comes up, it waits around 5 seconds and I get a message saying:

"Error writing to directory "C/Documents~1/Local~1/Temp/ OraInstall .... Please ensure that this directory is writable and it has at least 45MB of free space"

Well, regarding the space, I have more than 30 GB available, so this is not the problem. In addition, I'm logged in as the administrator and I have personally change the folder settings (uncheck the read only box).

Now, the interesting aspect of this is that in the command window, I get a message saying:

C/Document~1/Admin/Locals~1/Temp/OraInstall.../oui/jlib/OraInstaller.jar/ Bad CRC 7f66d50e <should be 335f93a0>

In addition, I searched for the OraInstaller.Jar and I wasn't able to find it.

Please, I need some guidance as at this point i don't know what else to do.

Thank you!

Eduardo

The "error writing to directory" message is fairly generic and has many causes, not just lack of space or write privileges. So that's probably not your fundamental issue. The "bad CRC" indicates file corruption extracting the OraInstaller.Jar file. Even though you believe that your download and file extraction were successful, the evidence is that you somehow have a problem with the installation media. I would try starting from scratch with a fresh download.
