Have a client who is trying to instll NT4 workstation on a new server we have sold him, The server is an Intel Ref Chassis 2u dual xeon running raid 5.

He starts the install and when the opp sys converts from Fat to NTFS the system goes into a neverending reboot.

anybody any ideas why this would happen ?

thanks

it seems like the incompatible RAID 5 issue with NTW 4.0.

Check NTW HCL.

Hard to beleive at this point of time some people continue installing NT Workstations :)

We do here for some users. It never crashed and beat win98SE on the slower PC, like Pentium 300 and 400.

I agree, when it comes to slower systems, but not on the dual xeon running raid 5!!

hehe guys i agree it was stable but, its past its best.

First thing i told the client was that.

They use it for a Telco application that weirdly enough loves NT4 WS, ive told them to do a tech refresh :)
