I am trying to install NT on a new machine. Have tried Server and Workstation from diskette and CD. All get to point (equivalent to end of second floppy) where they display:

Microsoft(R) Windows NT (TM) Version 4.0 (Build 1381)
1 System Processor [512 MB Memory] Multiprocessor Kernel

Shortly afterwards the following message is displayed:

Setup has encountered a fatal error while initialising your computer's video

Contact your product support representative for assistance. The following status codes will assist them in diagnosing the problem:

(0, 0xc0000034)

Setup cannot continue. Power down or reboot your computer now.

The suppliers insist it has nothing to do with video and that the disk storage is wrong. This is an Adaptec 2100S and I have tried deleting and creating arrays in various formats (RAID-0 and RAID-5) with noe effect. Has anyone seen similar problems and is the video or something else?

Thanks

at the start boot message choose :
windows nt vga mode.
then install service pack 6
reboot you can now install your video driver

What Chip set is on the system board and how much memory? What service pack is your install package at? When are you selecting the driver for the 2100S?
