Greetings folks, I am a first time poster...

Here is my question.

Currently I have an old linksys router in my basement connected to a hub, and to my cable modem. All the PC's in the house connect to the hub in the basement.

I wanted to add wireless but did not want to just swap out the old linksys with the new WAP, because of signal issues... Being stuck down in the basement and all...

Anyway I purchased a new Linksys wireless G WAP, and installed it as follows:

Installed a cross over cable between the internet port on the new router and connected it to one of the ports on my hub, which is connected to the old Linksys. I just used the cable going to my sons PC and turned it into a Xover. I the connected my sons PC to one of the available ports on the new router.

The original router is configured as 192.168 1.1 the new router is 192.168.1.10.

Well I can not connect to the internet from my sons PC. I can connect and confidure the new router, but I can not get to the old router... All the lights that should on on the new router are good.

I have also tried switching it from gateway to router mode, no luck...

What am I missing ???

HELP !

wild4stangs,
You need to have different subnets for each network.
Change the NEW router's internal LAN to 192.168.X.0 so X is 2-255. If you use 1 then it can't tell between inside and outside.
