I've searched through FAQs and previous posts for this, plus in all my books and can't seem to find info on this. This is what I need to do.

I have a new scsi hard drive to add to my server. It's hot-swappable, so I can just pop it in. I need to add it to the system, add it as a volume, then copy all the files from an existing volume to that new hd/volume. How do I go about doing that? Thanks.

If the volume is SYS, then there is a lot more work that needs to be done (backup and restore of the system).

For a volume other than SYS, simply install the drive, create a NetWare partition, create a volume with a different name than the old volume. Use any utility you like to move the files, I would use the CPQFM.NLM (Compaq File Mananger), this wil copy the files from volume to voume with in the server, nothing going out on the wire. Once done, delete your old volume (be sure you have made duplicate backups) and rename the new volume to the old voume name. Then you should be done. Brent Schmidt CNE,Network + [atom]
