I am running NW 6.5. I want to install an FTP server. I run nwconfig and make the selection to install products from the NW65PROD CD. Nothing is listed. I've looked at the CD, the FTP server software is present. It is Zipped. Obviously I am having a 'Simple Simon' moment here and a little help would be appreciated.

Thanks

If it is zipped, I would assume that you unzip it on a workstation and run the setup program from there. Providing you are logged into the server you want to install it on, you should get an option in the setup to choose that server

to see if it's on have a look at the sys:etc
or at server type ftpstart
this calls the nwftpd deamon

you can actually just copy the files - there are only about 4 or 5 of them

If you want NetWare to go through the installation the correct way, you have to use the GUI and do a START-->INSTALL and then point to CD#2.

If you do it from NWCONFIG, it's not going to do it. (actually it may launch the GUI and you just don't realize it, especially if you're using AFREECON or other tool that doesn't support GUI).
