Installing .NET Framework 2.0

I'm trying to install .NET Framework 2.0 with SMS 2003 SP1 onto a number of Win2K machines.

I've used these instructions (they are for 1.0 but it'all I could find):

As well as a bunch of other methods I've come up with my self with varying results (mostly it gets assigned but fails). All the errors I get in the logs are vague and it's driving me mental.

I've successfully packaged and assigned loads of stuff in the past, both Microsft and thrid party apps and nothing has ever given me this much hassle.

Has anyone got any diffinitive instructions on how to install .NET Framework 2.0 with SMS 2003 before I kill myself?
