Installing MySQL on Solaris Platform.

Does anyone have a complete document on installing MySQL on Solaris X86 or Sparc platform? If so please include the version of tar used to unpack the tar archive and also the version and type of compiler used to compile source code. I have had numerous problems in the past with the compiler and tar program on Solaris.
