installing MYSQL 5.0

Hi,

I have downloaded MYSQL 5.0 and unzipped it. but i need to know after unzipping which file i need to run to install it on my machine.?

Need more information or a meaningfull answer.

What OS?
What download package?
etc...

why not download the one *with* the installer instead of the one listed as WITHOUT....

thanks, I think last time I downloaded something else, it was not even database I think.

Now what interface I should use?, should I use 'MYSQL control center' or phpmyadmin?

or SQLyog or .. or ...

Horses for course mate, they all do pretty much the same stuff, but they all present it differently.

Try em all, see which one you prefer. Somewhere here is a thread on which gui is best, you'll need to search the mysql forum for that tho. Raised some valid points.
