Hi everyone - Have a Partner R7 processor, R7 messaging module and a 5-slot carrier. I programmed the system last night and put the messaging module in this morning to the immediate right of where the processor is. Couldn't get the messaging module to come up. It would start up green, then flash green and amber once or twice, and then remain all amber. This same behavior happened when I tried to put the module in slots 4,5 and 2. Finally, when I put the module into slot 1, it came up and started.

Is it OK to leave the module in slot 1? Not sure why that strange behavior happened ...

If all you have is a 5-slot carrier, an ACS processor, and a Messaging module, no other expansion modules, the first slot is the ONLY slot that the Messaging can go into.

TTT is right as usual
the partner 5 slot carrier has the slots in the following order
1 - 2 - 0 - 3 - 4
Slot 0 is for the processor due to the different connector the only slot it can go then they need to populate the slots in the numbering order and any empty slots will interrupt the subsequent slots (most of the time).

If you can't be good, be good at it!

Gotcha ... thanks much for clarifying that. I had the order wrong.
