First time user of linux. I am running a daul boot of win2k and win98,need to know proper way to install linux, boot loaders ,version etc.

First you need to go here to get the best distro ever known to man kind: Burn the 3 iso files to disc. You will not need the ones with SRPM in the name because those contain the source code for all the packages. Next make room for linux on one of your hard drives. If you don't already have a partition that can be used, you will need to shrink an existing partition with a tool such as partition magic. Note that earlier versions of this tool cannot handle NTFS partitions. Finally load the first cd and reboot. Let the install create the linux partitions automatically. When asked for the boot loader, you may choose either lilo or grub. Just be sure to install it on the MBR. After the install is finished, you will need to reboot. The boot loader will detect all 3 operating systems and prompt you for which one you want to boot. If you don't select one with 15 seconds, which ever one you chose as the default will be started.

RhythmAce: your browser seems to have been hijacked by the WrongDistro virus. Surely you meant to say when you mentioned the best distro know to man kind ;-)
