I've a quick question that's been puzzling me for a while.

I've installed Linux Redhat with Apache on a network before, all worked well, no problems.

What I would like to do is install Linux and Apache on my machine at home, it's a standalone machine(sadly with a winmodem). The issue is the network settings required when installing, it's not on a network, so what would you suggest are the best generic settings that I'd be able to input to allow Apache to work when testing pages locally?

Is it even feasible?

Many thanks

If linux complains about not being able to find you on the network. You can add your machine (host) name to /etc/hosts. To access your test website, have httpd load at boot and then you should be able to access your web pages by typing localhost in the url box of your browser.
