I need some help installing Cardfile. I recently upgraded(?) to Win 98 and would like to be able to keep Cardfile, but I can't get it to install with Win 98. If you have any suggestions please email me wizard1@win.bright.net

Thanks,

You should be able to find it under Accessories. I don't believe Windows 98 ships with cardfile but, if you simply upgraded, you should still have the program on your system.

The Windows upgrades usually don't remove an old component without replacing it with a newer version.

This system has been through six Windows upgrades and the functionality of all the old 3.0 components remain... they just look a little different.

<a href= temporary Vorpalcom home page
Send me suggestions or comments on my current software project.

While this install was indeed an upgrade, I wiped my HD to eliminate a partitioned drive to create a drive with only one partition, thus there were no remnants of the previously installed software. I tried to install Cardfile from my Win 3.1 disks,but I could not get it to work.

Are you getting an error? Are you able to find the cardfile executable? Are you trying to run it and it just goes clunk?

Need more info to help ya. Too many possibilities from what's here.

I think there is a win3.1 config file in the Win9x, cant remeber the name of it, bet lets you control the behavior or older win3.1 programs. search the exes in your windows folder should look kinda obvious.
Karl
kb244@kb244.8m.com
<a href=
Experienced in , or have messed with : VC++, Borland C++ Builder, VJ++6(starting),VB-Dos, VB1 thru VB6, Delphi 3 pro, Borland C++ 3(DOS), Borland C++ 4.5, HTML, ASP(somewhat), QBasic(least i didnt start with COBOL)

The easiest way is to copy the cardfile from another PC that has it installed,
then create your own shortcut. It will work.
David J.
