Hi
I installed ids 9.4 on linux (fedora core 2).
That was fine.
I then ran the installation proceess which seemed fine.

I then followed instructions to create the online_learn system (from
an old informix manual)

oninit -i was successfull.

When l did dbaccess i got the following error message.

-25588 The appl process cannot connect to the database server server-name

additional info -
when i do a onmode -m i get the message "fatal error initialising shared memory"

Thanks in Advance

anything in the online log file?

the onmode -m is a valid error, as if oninit is successful, you are already running.

do a ps -ef and see if oninit process's are there

check any readme files for what the shared memory stuff should be for your platform.

what does your sqlhosts file look like?
