We are trying to emulate a customer site where they have the system setup, but at a 2004 version and are unable to read details of backup tapes down to the file level.

We wish to read a sample of their backup tapes down to file level to determine what to do with them next. So we will need to install and configure our own system. Some questions follow from this.

1. Can we buy the downloads of this system advertised on the internet?
2. What underlying version of HP-UX should we install?
3. Can we install all of the above on a virtual UNIX server?
4. Can we use single external tape readers attached to the server?

Any help gratefully received
